Price Tag for a Lady

God created woman
with an intricate sort of plan,
for after creating Adam from earth
He thought of woman to complete the man.

After great considerations
several questions did arise,
like where to put the breasts on her?
and then, of course..what size?

Well after a time, the design was flawless,
woman even smelled so nice;
but God decided that for this work
there'd have to be a price.

So, God leaned close to Adam
without meaning to cause alarm,
and told Adam that Eve was his
the price being his right arm.

God explained that she'd do anything
without ever throwing a "fit",
she would cook, and clean, and pleasure him
protesting not the slightest bit !

So after careful consideration
Adam's reply showed signs of glib,
he looked straight into the eyes of God, and said...
"So, what can I get for a rib?"

That one line....

...stressed me out, too. I did change it, and I hope it flows a bit better. What say you? Thanx again for your comment...I am greatly relieved that the piece was not offensive to you, or women as a whole. "Write On"! sincerely, #{:>{)}@==== docmaverick.

What a nice sentiment....

...that I am a "painter", truly the best compliment that I've ever received ! (That would make YOU, a "connoisseur"!)Lol ! Thank you very much, Antoinette... "Write On"! sincerely, #{:>{)}@==== docmaverick.

LOL

There were a couple lines that seemed a little long. I have suggestions for both: "and protest not, even a little bit!" - not protesting the slightest bit? "the only cost would be his right arm." - The cost being his right arm? (I felt the 'only' did not strengthen anything, and it made the line a little long) *shakes her head* men..... lol! ~Jess K. ----------------------- "Sundown you better take care if I find you've been creepin' 'round my back stairs. Dwarf....

...I've made the changes you suggested, but I used the word, "price"...rather than, "cost". Thanx for the feedback...it was most helpful. "Write On"! sincerely, #{:>{)}@==== docmaverick.
