I wrote this piece
the other day ...

unless I didn't.

to tell a tale,
I feel my way.

unless I don't.

I look forward
to good hap'ning.

unless I don't.

I walked my walk
this midmorning.

unless I didn't.

I didn't hear
you yesterday.

unless I did.

I won't see you
by tomorrow ...

unless I do.

unless I

And I'm not laughing out loud, unless I am [and I am.] Thanks Chuck~ _____________________________________________________ Income-tax forms should be more realistic by allowing the taxpayer to list "Uncle Sam" as a dependent Anonymous

i found this funny

but also a crafty comment on the fragility and ephemeral nature of human existence, particularly this last line: "I won’t see you by tomorrow …/unless I do." how many think of that? that we may not see our friends tomorrow? existential acuteness! GB

You have delightful halo's in your works Chuck... dare I say it?

Love these writes of yours that seem to offer so much more below the words than surface visibly... or is that just me? You have delightful halo's in your works Chuck... dare I say it?... Unless you don't! Cheers Anni~ ` "Those who dwell among the beauties & mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life" ~ Rachel Carson Writer/conservationist

Thanx---

and glad to see you here. I've missed you. And by the way, I like your photo peek around the corner. Delightful. Yours, Chuck PS: I think the poem itself suggests a mischievousness behind it ... one that's not readily supported by a halo. Though maybe 'tis by nubby horns. And further by the way, my thanx to the rest of you above ... for your dropping by, your reading, your considering, your commenting. Much appreciated from this corner of what's left of the universe.
