unless I didn't.

to tell a tale,
I feel my way.

unless I don't.

I look forward
to good hap'ning.

unless I don't.

I walked my walk
this midmorning.

unless I didn't.

I didn't hear
you yesterday.

unless I did.

I won't see you
by tomorrow ...

unless I do.

i found this funny

but also a crafty comment on the fragility and ephemeral nature of human existence, particularly this last line: "I won’t see you by tomorrow …/unless I do." how many think of that? that we may not see our friends tomorrow? existential acuteness! GB

Yours, Chuck PS: I think the poem itself suggests a mischievousness behind it ... one that's not readily supported by a halo. Though maybe 'tis by nubby horns. And further by the way, my thanx to the rest of you above ... for your dropping by, your reading, your considering, your commenting. Much appreciated from this corner of what's left of the universe.
