"Remember When"
Remember when pay phones cost 25 cents
CD's were new, high top fades were out
Mike Tyson was in jail
And Ross Perot was considered clout
Yeah the 90's were here
Nothing since seems to compare
Staying up til after mid night to watch Arsenio Hall
A couple of ours earlier I'd been laughing so hard I'd nearly fall
Off my bed
Watching In Living Color, was the name of that show
Ankle socks were in
And Nike had shoes out that could glow
Larry Johnson as "Grand Ma Ma" had about a thousand commercials
Michael Jackson (RIP) was still dropping hit after hit
"Do You Remember The Time"
When $10 filled up your gas tank
Now $10 is the equivalent to a drop of spit
The Rodney King verdict was old news
O.J. Simpson would later be on trial
Princess Dianna was still living
And the "9/11" events would be a while
Off in the distance radical Muslim groups were on the rise
Wars and rumors of wars, countries continuing to divide
White and Black was still an issue
Arnold Swartzenager was still acting
Madonna was fresh off a tour
Mary Kate and Ashley began making movies
I didn't think they'd blow up that big, that's for sure
Remember when Clinton was elected
Phil Mickelson still seeking that first green coat
What about when George Bush senior said "No more taxes"
Man! So many highly respected offices, taken as a joke
Think back to Jordan, Pippen, and Phil
Oparah was doing her thing
Smoking was still killing people
And Rosan Barr showed how much she couldn't sing
Jenny Craig was watching everybody wait
To get on the phone line and order
Some of here compact dinner plates
Cell phones came out
But, they weighed half a tone
MC Hammer was jamming
Though Vanilla Ice said he was the "ONE"
Magic tells the world he has HIV
Pat and Vana still spinning the wheel
The Huxtable's were always on my TV
Sally Jesse, Ricky,Jerry, and Donahue but, no Dr. Phil
Don't forget Johnny Carson on weeknights
Jay Leno was still cracking jokes
Watching the Price Is Right hosted by Bob Barker
When I stayed home from school with a sore throat
Remember when these memories were our present
Thank GOD for the internet to help me
