A Gifted Red Breath ...

In flaming red clouds
a dragon arrived
coming to stop
mid flight he glides

Mists of crimson
drift to flame-out
vision is clearing
A gift stepped out

Hide of blue Armour
rippled in light
myriads of gashes
scars from fights

Mouth hanging open
he nodded and said
"Milady I've come
lift up your head"

Glittering tears
start down to slide
my miracle had come
heart and soul collide

All of my life
dreams in the night
filled with wonders
of dragons in flight

Kaleidoscoped joy
explodes like a star
dripping eyes mirror
emitting pulsars

Warmth in winter
you did bring
heating my face
a heart starts to sing

Kneeling before your
majestic form
reverence flowing
in midst a windstorm

Wing-tips stretching
proudly he roared
launching to night
eternally he soars

I like how

You put yourself into the poem as the maiden. This piece is enchanting. I love dragons, too. Have you read any of Ann McCaffery's Dragon books? (About the Dragon riders of Pern) I love that series. One tint thing... In this line: in midst a windstorm is the word (in) necessary? Love Cat p.s. I am practicing giving reviews without using the star system. So don't feel hurt by the lack of them. Soon the star system is going away and I figured I may as well get used to writing responses without them.

Following the lead......

I'm not sure if I like the demise of stars or not, but will try to stay in keeping with the flow. I AM saddened by the lack of at least rudimentary puncuation in the poems of all as of late. I too, love dragons and have some really nice ones in my collection. [Candles, pewter figures, pictures and such.] I have read all the Dragons of Pern, and the others by Ann McCaffery and her son. You would really like these stories. I must say you did a fine job with this poem. Like it a lot! Feeling a little better today, and hope the trend continues. I hope you too are feeling better. Hugz,Gee.
