The Lady and Twilight Bond
Words can often fail
but I try, anyway.
The verbs wrap around
a particular noun,
and adjectives help them stay;
causing images to move and sway.
Before your very eyes
I'm hoping what I write,
will an image, send
concerning my friend,
the woman known as Twilight;
who toils throughout the night.
Summer in the desert
owns a suffocating heat,
dispatching out
enough self-doubt,
to squelch trying any "feat";
that includes walking on the street.
While waiting for the evening
the daylight swelters by,
Twilight rests
while interrupted by pests,
her dog, Lady with an open eye;
so faithful it would make you cry.
Existing and surviving
these two are quite a pair,
things would take their toll
but a love this full,
creates a bond so very rare;
you can see how much they care.
Twilight recycles through the desert
with her flashlight in her hand,
searching for "ka-ching"
that'll help bring,
enough, from all she's canned;
like a prospector with the gold he's panned.
A sweeter heart you'd never meet
both Twilight's and Lady's, too.
I'll say it once again
they're both a good friend,
I wish good fortune for these two;
in everything they have to do.
Bad luck has recently fallen
on the shoulders of these pals;
but they'll get by
without batting an eye,
when they could've thrown in their towels,
these are two determined gals !
With hearts as big as oceans
they remain "positive" all the while.
I feel, come what may
there will come a day,
where fortune will remove every trial;
giving them a chance to smile.
but I try, anyway.
