Lost Highway

Inspired by Dark Highway by Rhett
How did you know this was the
road sign that I followed and
still on this road going no
where. No detours?I look with deep sobriety
with eyes that look blindingley
and pierce my soul unthinkingly with
thoughts that are reminding me of life
and death relentlesslyUpon the razored edge of time
searching endlessly to find
while I slowly lose my mind
until I see the world I want
surrounding me.Dreaming eyes devotedly
until at last I see
the one who is
just for me
Sorry Rett cannot help myself comment into poems hope you do not mindalways my friend

Maggie

Such a lovely journey you take me on with your carefully selected words. My favorite lines are: I look with deep sobriety with eyes that look blindingly and pierce my soul unthinkingly with thoughts that are reminding me of life and death relentlessly Always, Cat

Cat Thank you friend. I am glad you were able to join me on my journey. I cannot help but be inspired by others here. When reading my mind just takes off and words start to tumble I try to comment but they turn into poems. So inspired am I by you all always maggie

Maggie, I am honored

A greater compliment cannot be made to me as a poet, than to have inspired a poem. Thank you. I imagine you are using internet exploder so on that I cannot give advice on how to clear the cookies. I find that on the whole, Internet Explorer is just more trouble than it is worth so I haven't really used it except superficially for years. Firefox (which is free) is a much easier, more efficient and less vulnerable program, not to mention faster. I enjoyed the write even though I agree with Jayne's assessment, but realize you are having trouble editing it. Respectfully, Rett: "At twenty, if you are not a liberal, you have no heart. At thirty, if you are not a conservative, you have no brain." Winston Churchill

I agree with Rett...

...on two counts, firstly there really isn't a better compliment than to have inspired a poem...and your poem is beautifully painted. Second...Internet Explorer is spawn of the Devil (I know Rett didn't actually say that) and Firefox is much easier, safer and faster. I'll talk you through editing...I'll message you. Sorry Rett for hijacking your comment. regards HS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "With all that I am and all that I could be, I walk this earth and yet nobody sees me".

Rhett You have a wonderful story to tell and I cannot help myself but go on the journey with you. When I read the poems many of them become a moving image like a video with these images my words tumble into new visions creating another poem. I will try and sort the cookies etc. Always Maggie
