Winters Sleep
I've lived life like a squirrel
searching for my acorns
before the winters come,
Amassing all I could
when ever cold might come
I packed all so very high
I could not see the other side,
The happy little brook that sang
I didn't stop to hear
I heard it like a babbling
that went from ear to ear,
Winters came and went
depleting what I gained
starting from my start
amassing once again,
The more that I amassed
the more I gave away
damned is my heart
that felt the others pain,
So many things I've done
now all I do is wait
I raise my eyes and look upon the sun
and have a pleasant thought
While I wait in peace
for "Winters Sleep" to come.
searching for my acorns
before the winters come,
Amassing all I could
when ever cold might come
I packed all so very high
I could not see the other side,
The happy little brook that sang
I didn't stop to hear
I heard it like a babbling
that went from ear to ear,
Winters came and went
depleting what I gained
starting from my start
amassing once again,
The more that I amassed
the more I gave away
damned is my heart
that felt the others pain,
So many things I've done
now all I do is wait
I raise my eyes and look upon the sun
and have a pleasant thought
While I wait in peace
for "Winters Sleep" to come.
