A Rose From Our Garden

A Rose From Our Garden

Like a rose from our garden
And stars behind dark clouds
Her presence will be missed

Her hearty laughter her precious smile
We’ll always remember
Etched forever in our heart

Just as rainfalls on tin rooftops
And sunsets behind rainclouds
The tears we shed fill skin bottles

A wife, a mother, a grandmother,
A sister, an aunt, and a cousin
Her smile is what we’ll frame

One day we’ll see her again
Healthy, giving a helping hand in a better world
Where sickness and death cease to exist

Thanks for the kind response. It was a stressful four months in and out of the hospital every week two or more days a week. We are sad, but comforted in that she did not suffer and we accepted her wishes to go while she was in her full senses. she signed a DNR without our knowledge. I watch her last peaceful breathe pass through her lips. I have seen sick people dying, traumatic, but I leave before they pass. Her death was different never have I seen anybody draw their last breathe before her. Just talking, thanks for listening. ~~~~~~~~~ Be whoever you are At all times, and Remember that Because of this, people will Always Respect, and Admire you ©2008Leonard Respectfully Yours, Barbara

Thanks for the response and the stars. She was a dearly loved and special person. All her family members was running in to be there before she pass. her youngest son on the road driving his big rig prayed to god not to let her go before he got there he was driving through a down pour rain and a rainbow bow before him. He got home a hour before she past kiss cried left the room. Me, my sister, married two brothers, her sister and 3 of the next door neighbor daughter, who loss their mom a year ago was talking as I watch her last breathe pass. My sister counted a minute and half later we call the family and people started passing out in the heat including me trying to calm screaming people. Talking again. Thanks for listening I gonna write these expression in a length poetry when the time comes and I just can't remove my fingers from the keypad ~~~~~~~~~ Be whoever you are At all times, and Remember that Because of this, people will Always Respect, and Admire you ©2008Leonard Respectfully Yours, Barbara

It must have been a real trying time for you to remain calm in the midst of all that chaos induced by pain and sorrow. I'm sure she must have been a very special Lady. (((hugs))) Always, Cat

Your words to CAT and JANICE choked me up just as well as your poem. It is so hard trying to find some resolve in a well-knitted poem for a loved one, lost, but I am certain you can go back to these words years from now and just as well reconstitute the wonderful memory of her. nicely done PINT :)

I’m really sorry for your

I'm really sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose someone important. My grandma died of cancer not too long ago. This poem really struck a chord with me. It's beautifully written, and I'm sure that wherever she is now she's happy to be remembered so fondly.

Barbara....

...this was, and is...a beautiful tribute. You know, every time there's a death in the family...or, a death within a circle of friends, I'm forever approached to "write something"...and, sometimes it's difficult ! You did a stellar job of juggling the sensibilities ! Thanx for the write. sincerely, "Write On"! #{:>{)}@==== docmaverick.
