Hair charm

Have you ever beheld such sorry sight?

At my young age, my hair is turning white

I spot the silver threads, you hear my cry:

Run for the tweezers or get me some dye!

Hairy tale!

short and sweet - left me looking for more! How about penning another verse or two? CHeers Boni

Boni,

I'll think about it and maybe I'll come up with more... Let's see what happens... Your buddy, ~Nina

Big Smile!

Yup, it needs more verses, I agree. Very good what you have so far. Always, Cat

Nina

have no fear of your white hair's, but rather be afraid of losing the wisdom that you've gained. Very nice but where the rest of it, I hope you didn't lose it in your hair? thanks Eddie

Eddie,

I am chuckling at that wisdom line. That's awesome, thanks! No, I didn't lose anything in my hair, my charms tend to be short...as I have said, I may or may not expand on this... Thanks for the read, my friend, ~Nina

Nina...

Well I politely disagree with this needing more, it says what is needed, it's funny and everyone can or will be able to relate... I did think you may need an "a" between such and sorry... although you could add more, I don't think it is needed... smiling at your dilemma... Richard

a, that "a"!

Richard, I've been wondering who'd be the one who picked that up, for I debated having an "a" there or not, but kicked it out for flow reasons. Is it outrageously wrong? I do hope not... Yours, ~Nina

Thanks, Kelsey,

I am still trying to persuade myself that the "a" is not necessary there, but now have half a mind to add it. Let's see if the other half catches up. My cousin has had grey hair since her mid-twenties, too, and a friend went grey before he turned twenty, he started to dye his hair black (his natural hair colour) at 24. Never thought it would make a difference to how I feel, but somehow it came as a shock... Love, ~Nina

Quite a ...

coincidence, your (and my) most recent subjects settling on hair. Although the hair at the sides of my head are quite white (pretty much all over those limited areas, in fact), I don't know---really don't---what the color of my hair on top'd be ... if 'twere only there. Ain't hair wonderful? Though I'm about five feet eight and a three-quarter inch tall, I volunteer regularly to others that I'd be about seven-one ... with hair. Always good for a joke. And one that always gets a laugh. (Though sometimes the laugh seems a bit nervous.) Welcome to the Hair Club for Men --- er, I mean People. It's quite well populated. And growing. By the second. Yours, Chuck

Chuck,

the prospect of being in a club with you is so exciting that I accidentally hit "post" twice here!
I

Aw,

can we start a club for people with lop sided ears and hair woes? Chuck, I'd love being a member of any club you're a member of, despite your statement that you wouldn't join a club that would have you as a member. Well, I would. Yours, ~Nina

On Secend Thought

The poem is just fine as it is. There is no law stating how long or short it is to validate if it is a legitimate poem. Always, Cat

Cat,

thank you. I love second thoughts, am quite second thought prone myself. I also love idle thoughts, they visit me daily. Yours, ~Nina

An idle thought ...

injects itself into all-too-receptive brain. Mine, that is. "Run for the tweezers or get me some dye!" prompts an alternative: "Run for the tweezers or just let me die!" Chuck

Chuck,

those homophones do prompt one to think of the other, don't they? I think I will stick to the more subtle version I chose to post, but I will certainly at least think about it. Yours, ~Nina

I laugh ...

at myself, of course. My tandem thought so expressed was not proffered for serious consideration. Your more subtle version's prob'ly my preferred. (Another (totally irrelevant) thought: Interesting ... that proffered doubles the f ... while preferred prefers the doubled r.) Always good to see you here. Thanx again, Chuck

HAHAHAHAHA !!!!!

This is a great poem! made me laugh! i love its short simplicity. no more needs to be said, except for every one white/silver hair you pull out with the tweezers, 20 more will appear! this was great nina, i needed a laugh and you provided it for me. thank you. Nina, I enjoyed this

Like Richard, I think it says it all. Just one thing. I will trade you all my dark hair for your white ones. *snicker* Respectfully, Rett: "At twenty, if you are not a liberal, you have no heart. At thirty, if you are not a conservative, you have no brain." Winston Churchill

too late, I've gone with the dye for now...maybe another time we can set up a hair exchange. Chuckling, ~Nina

Be careful, dear Nina, with ...

that "Chuckling": I think, unless I'm mistaken, it refers to "a little Chuck," and I'm small enough already. Thank you very much. Yours, Chuck (Chuckles)

LOL

Hmmm its the hair thing i to relate to so well. I truly enjoyed this, and feel it is short, sweet and truly to the point, though look forward to it if you do decide to add more of your thoughts to this. This really made me smile upon reading. Thank you! Much love in script. Jill Mistakes happen, do not dwell on them, live them, mourn them and move on to better things. (PS: if that does not work eat lots and lots of chocolate)
