THE SPACE OF EMPTINESS

THE SPACE OF EMPTINESS

The emptiness of space...
the distances between planets and stars:
women are from Venus, men from Mars
all a set jargon, a given decoy
our hearts to confuse -
our minds to deploy

In between astronomical objects
is lots and lots of space,
 silky, sullen, inky-dinky space,
plenty of nothing, nulls within voids.

Just as in the dominion of the lover -
the interior of the broken heart
is composed almost entirely of empty space,
so  too is the kingdom of the heavens.
Nature  it seems  adores a vacuum.

Bonita,

another clever write! Again, I see a few possible variations: That empty space between planets and stars: women are from Venus, men from Mars all a set jargon, a given decoy our hearts to confuse, our minds to deploy In between astronomical objects lie lots and lots of space, silky, sullen, inky-dinky space, plenty of nothing, nulls within voids. Just as the dominion of the lover, the interior of the broken heart holds almost nothing but empty space, as does the kingdom of the heavens. Nature, it seems, adores a vacuum. Let me know what you think of those suggestions. Yours, ~Nina

Boni,

I will certainly read and comment on your new piece, but right now, my bed looks much more tempting than another read. Yours, ~Nina
