Rico, for One Day

Music mixes
instant fixes,
avoiding, play with knives;

on the "go"
certainly, in the know,
ducking calls from one's ex-wives.

While on the street
destiny you'll meet,
so, please stand "bold", your ground;

let's not pretend
all must defend,
our streets, and all around.

Without a ride
no one can hide,
the drama that's understood;

only one claim
the "hood" has it's name,
defend it as you should.

And come what may
one must obey,
the rules that set things right;

children will play
only during the day,
protecting Home, can take all night.

What would you do
without a clue,
no option of getting to hide;

time to admit
if you have the "grit",
just "do", and never say, "I tried!"

We have our days
no time for praise,
considering our "plight";

times do depend
on a trusted friend,
as you endure each lonely night.

The "hood" makes a pack
keeping all on track,
with a code quite like no other;

don't act a fool
and keep things "cool",
you owe that to your Mother.

Time winds down
in this desperate town,
with rules all must obey;

as daylight sings
what sunrise brings,
never thought I'd feel this way.

I would never offend
a trusting friend,
but, I'd treat this lady, right;

life's not on lease
so I'll just say my peace,
really loud ! With all my might !

If I ever see
things change for me,
I'd gladly submit my "bid";

to hold the hand
of one lady, "grand",
my feelings would be not, "hid".

This beauty, rare
for whom I now care,
knows not, that I feel this way;

in a perfect world
and with life unfurled,
let me be Rico, for just one day.

No, my friend....

...Rico is the true name of the Lady's "bo". He's not around, and I've found myself helping her, and comforting her...well, to the point that I wish that I could be Rico for a day. If you were to lay eyes on Ms. Carol...you'd assume the exact same posture as I. The difference is, you can't see her, and I can't see anyone else ! Ya know? #{:>{)}@==== Later, and "Write On"! sincerely, docmaverick.
