Red Wine

my glass is just
half full
or is it half empty
I sip but not gulp
to saviour the taste
that pepper flavour
of berry fruit bouquet
room temperature is best
a cask a bottle a carafe
there is a little froth
if you pour to fast
much slower is best
vibrant in colour
deep crimson red
palate is generous
a hint of subtle oak
is this full bodied wine
with a lasting smooth finish

it's cold outside
and warm inside
with this lovely glass of red
