A Wonderful Proposal

It was early in the morning

When I was

suddenly woken up,  with the sound of a loud knock

still feeling half asleep

I stumbled out of bed as I got up to answer the door

  when I opened it

I got a surprise

Because, there you were

standing, with your hands held in the air

holding a child’s bucket and spade

you winked at me with a smile

and said

guess where we are going

I shrieked in delight and shouted the beach

you  shook your head and said no

and then you handed me the bucket and spade

and asked me to follow you into the garden

as I followed you, you pointed to a place

where you ask me if I could dig it up

although I was puzzled by what was going on

I still carried out what you had asked me to do

and   so I begun to dig

and as I removed the soil

 I discovered a small   box,

I picked it up and opened it

Inside, laid a beautiful diamond ring

I went very quiet

,for I was lost for words

gently, you placed your hand on my face and kissed my lips

and then you took my hand and ask me if I would marry you

tears of joy ran down my cheeks

as I said yes

what a wonderful way to propose

Wonderful Proposal

I think that this would have been much better in rhyme, but it was good still. A nice little story, I hope that it really happened to you. Try 'I got up out of bed, and stumbled to the door. It seems a little tighter. Keep writing, it gets easier. One day you will just let the words flow and there you will be. ~ Geezer
