House of Sighs
The brightest paint
adorns the trim,
the house a moss green hue;
the family inside,
from each they hide,
appearances are not true.
A garden "fair"
out on the lawn,
surrounding two oak trees;
inside the dwelling,
people yelling,
but, the eyes does beauty see.
Don't let folks see
inside the house,
with portraits in each frame;
showing in each face
a love disgrace,
and every wall's the same.
It's way too sad
families dissolve,
before our very eyes,
a pretty lawn,
but with all walls gone,
we've a house made out of sighs.
adorns the trim,
the house a moss green hue;
the family inside,
from each they hide,
appearances are not true.
A garden "fair"
out on the lawn,
surrounding two oak trees;
inside the dwelling,
people yelling,
but, the eyes does beauty see.
Don't let folks see
inside the house,
with portraits in each frame;
showing in each face
a love disgrace,
and every wall's the same.
It's way too sad
families dissolve,
before our very eyes,
a pretty lawn,
but with all walls gone,
we've a house made out of sighs.
