The Garden

It once held everything,
The Garden talks and walks like a stranger…

Watching my muse drift in the garden
My own memories and regrets
All of the ‘could’ve beens’
The Glorified Fountain,
The fading weeds,
The thriving ivy,
All beat from the heart of it all

In the center, lies a rose bush
Thorny and wild, its petals bleed the reddest of reds
To the left and right, lie roses of white
Beyond and before midnight blue

Around it all lies a wall of stone
Keeping out and keeping in all the bad and the better

Watch beauty transform
            A child by morning
                        A woman by night
Watch evil destroy
            A town this morning
                        The world by night
Watch love grow
            A rose this morning
Entwined to the garden by night

Garden listens and stands like a friend,
Holding all of my secrets within…

Awesome write, Tears. I know

Awesome write, Tears. I know you mentioned it took a while to write, but it came out quite well. just one correction: women=woman. You weren't pluralizing woman lol. Minor thing, tho. I like how you used roses, but not in a cliche context, which is so easy to do. You used the garden image as a memory and the roses as beautiful images. Your last three stanzas are awesome, quite powerful in their simplicity. Peace n love Katie

thankyou!

i fixed the men to man, i hope no one reads that out of context, could be confusing. and yes roses are way cliche, i tried to leave them as they were, not as they could be(always are)! thanks again -with what love could be- WT

Really like this Tears,

possibly the best poem of yours I've read. Love the second line, not sure why, its just so alive. After reading it I couldn't figure out who or what Marry was. A rose free of thorns is just not a rose, not keen on that, a bit sentimentalised. lay roses of white [change of tense] lie roses of white Love Keeping out and keeping in all the bad and the better whick also conflicts with thornless rose. Watch love grow A rose bush this morning A bouquet by night [this line sucks badly] look at the progression in the previous 2 stanzas and then this? The growing striving rose get plucked and packaged into a bouguet, a mere decoration? Hate it. Good ending but that is one nasty typo "secretes", look up the meaning, I assume you meant secrets. You roused me to loving and hating in this which is a really good sign. I'll be interested to see if you work on it. Cheers, Jess

The Garden

WT I am becoming a fan my friend So vivid and sensual love the flow. I too in my garden grow Red and White Roses, Together they entwine their tendrils spread far and wide to the joy of all around. No fountain have I but weeds galore - but i love all nature let it be free. I can visulise the lady in long white gossamer gown shining wandering the garden in the moonlight as she gathers a single rose holds a memeory close to her heart. You secret garden within you muse can be dreaming dreams safe as can be. I love the lines you beautiful lady a child by day and a woman by night I love the lines The Rose in the morning entwined in the garden by night Electric Blue
