Waves of Emotion (from chat... adult language)

I.) Angry/Happy

This is the best day of my life

a flat tire going to work

my wife ran off with a moose

and just got a phone call -

my teeth are being repossessed

because I didn't pay my dental bill

But that's OK

I'm jubilant

euphoric

my aura exudes happiness

and I can't stop fucking laughing.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
II.) Excited/Depressed

Oh woe, oh me, oh my

can tha tell me why

you turned your back on me

laughed at my pitiful plea

for explanations

and justifications

of acts done by you

Ripped out my heart

and stomped it flat

Tore my frailty

pissed in my hat

now all I'm left with is mem'ry

Of acts done by you....

Dear Jessica,

I smiled as I read these poems, gladdened by the rents in the fabric. You mastered the objectives with panache and used the words fucking and pissed. I do wonder at 'tha'. It appears to mean 'you'. It finds itself in so many of your poems it acts like an identifier or calling card. Are you at liberty to set aside a reader's curiosity. It has an almost religious feel to it, like "thou". In any event, it is always wonderful to see you pushing the doors of your talent wider. Brian

Thanks, Brian

Of the two, the latter isn't really what I'd call a "bad" word. Actually, if you use it in the English sense, it means to be drunk, thus taking the "bad" out of it entirely! But... I meant it in the sense that it was intended: to take a piddle. The former I almost hesitated, for obvious reasons. 'Tha' in Yorkshire, means 'you'. You'll find I spread a smattering of English and Irish in my poetry a lot - in fact, I did an entire dedication in Irish. I fully intend to become fluent, though it's going to take a great many of years before that happens! Yes, I'm peeking a bit from behind my poetry door - I had had it closed for a little bit due to a badly shaken confidence. Thank you for your thoughts - always nice to see you on my page. =) My best to Olya, too. ~Jess K. ----------------------- "Flying so high, trying to remember How many cigarettes did I bring along? Interesting poems. The title fits the fabric. I was taken aback by the word "tha" as I thought it was a type-o and it distracted me from the rest of the poem. The pacing was good and I smiled throughout the reading... Good job over-all! Always, Cat
