Ghost in My Heart

there is a ghost in my heart

who wants me to see

everything that I might be

if I could but go beyond the blue pale

to yesterday’s future, tomorrow’s past

oh for one glimpse of the master puppeteer

on stage

doing his fine work

I watch the universe go ‘round and ‘round

close at hand, yet inaccessible

cannot see between the layers of love

it should be easy

to step from world to world

mind over matter

one day I will fly away to the moon

on gossamer wings; wear pink petticoats

eat green cheese at the reception party

spin down Alice’s rabbit hole like a whirling dervish

and hold court with the queen

but the magic carpet has a mind of its own

there is a ghost in my heart

who wants me to know

everywhere that I might go

Beautiful!

Your words speak to me of a yearning I know well... I am a lover of Ghosts... Yours is very beautiful... This is an enchanting poem. Raven

Ghost in my heart

Dee Ghosts I want to believe they exist longing for their contact as they maybe my only contact as I do not have any in this life. I always watch and do feel things maybe premenitions. So what do I have but a heart full of love to give but no takers be. So what else is there for me. Maybe I am the ghost. Electric blue so lonesome blue

Hi Maggi

My ghost is the being in my soul urging me on now and into worlds beyond; maybe a ghost in the sense we think, maybe a soul we know, now passed. Reading something from you recently, I just now understand, you have lost someone dear. This must account for your loneliness. I am so sorry. There is nothing I can offer except these painful times tend to fade. I am glad you're here, Maggie, where you get some moments of relief, I hope. Thank you so much for your comment. Yours, Deelilah

Oh, Patty

I just realized I didn't get back to you on your lovely comment. Thank you for the vote of confidence. I love whimsy, fantasy, weird, and like that---I like poetry as a way out of the mundane, though at times, life is hard to ignore. I do hope you are doing well. Keep singing. Yours, Deelilah

I love the patterning of this poem, the flow, the language and the message. Marvelous. Respectfully, Rett: "At twenty, if you are not a liberal, you have no heart. At thirty, if you are not a conservative, you have no brain." Winston Churchill

Thank you, Friend

I appreciate the vote of confidence. I'm glad I hit all the buttons. I had the 'gossamer wings and pink petticoats' words written down on a napkin (A thing I do from time to time--usually lose the napkin) and finally found a place that they could fit. So good to hear from you. Glad you're still AEC Chair. Congratulations. And many thanks for the hard work you all do. The ongoing controversy here must take up an enormous amount of time and energy. Always, Deelilah
