THE MOON AND THE NIGHT MARE

The moon and the night mare.    The moon awoke the night mare,To canter by his side,Always and forever to surf the waters wide.  Beguiled by his attention She urgently gives chase,Sinews straining, blazing, his night mare gathers pace. She streaks toward her suitor,His love ignites a flame,Spangled embers dancing behind her plum black mane.  Cloaked in opaque armour   She slyly changes form           Spitting twisted lightning bolts, raging up a storm. Sticky giant tentaclesEnveloping his soulPulling, squeezing leading him toward a big black hole. The fires of his passion Burst from her heart of clay                                            Pure gentle shafts of light cascade the Milky Way. A shimmering white phantomIn diamond studded beamsEmerges and transforms fulfilling all his dream. Together and foreverThey surf the waters wide,Reflected shifting patterns lapping on the tide.

Hello

I love the clever title as it is completely appropriate! I devoured this poem and then reread it for dessert because it is a delicious concoction of fantasy and beautiful imagery! Always, Cat

The peace of expectancy reigns

Ann of Norway Wild horses, do they have them in Wales as they do on Scotland's coasts, when the midnight horses charge in from the sea looking at the hills, to haunt the dreams of the Scots sleeping quietly in their Sheilings, the sea- weed roof shaking with the salt cast on them and the earth floor coming alive with creepy crawlies, and the sound of the wind through the little wooden door makes them suddenly afearrrred! Or no you are floating, chasing, riding, charging in the heavens, and making nightmares for the planets to negotiate, and that's exciting out there in that great blackness where we cannot see with the naked eye, where black holes swallow stars alive, and we learn about all this and find our own fears so little compared with that. Great imaginative poem Mand, love Ann.
