sweet cupcakes

sweet
cupcakes

now

in our innocence,
our very inattention
to things considered

trivial,

we ply our children
with sweet cupcakes at parties
meant to celebrate

those

sunbeamed birthdays---and
to guide them by and by to
a very early

Chuck ...

So true many parents dont have time to cook so they fast food it for the night , I myself have been guilty of this sin but due to other issues as you can imagine I have become more aware of what I am putting in my kids mouths ... OK you didnt ask for a history of my kids ... but simply huge health problem for our young today and you told it with grace in this , loved it :) ... Love Jayne

Dear Charles

The beginning of habit. Olya and I were musing yesterday about habit. The ingrained becomes harder and harder to reshuffle as we age. Those synaptic brain connections become almost welded in place. I think that this is a plash of poet's paint in the direction of important. Brian

Our very being is a habit

Our very being is a habit that we want to break at times, sometimes wanting to fly. Childhood obesity and anorexia, bulimia are two ends of the continuum. Balance is the key. Hard to live even harder to teach. You're a dear, now get out of my headlights. ;-) ~A "There are very few human beings who receive the truth, complete and staggering, by instant illumination. Most of them acquire it fragment by fragment, on a small scale, by successive developments, cellularly, like a laborious mosaic." Anais Nin

haha

Absolutely true, Chuck! Here in the U.S. we encourage youth to obesity at any early age--but who can resist a Little Debbie cupcake even at 85? You can always lighten it up, great poem. GB

Rather than ...

attempt to describe a cupcake in my words, I've just now checked Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, which cups the cake quite well with its definition as "a small cake baked in a cuplike mold." Thanx, Chuck

Thanx so much

all of you. I've been away. A freak storm took out our power ... just after the library shut down all computers in their continuing battle(s) with worms/viruses. As someone (I think) very wise once said, shit happens. With affection, Chuck
