IF I Was!!!!!

Hi Fleur, there were some great lines here & I loved the way it shows you up. "away from the hassle and blister of city folk" & "If I were a song I’d be a ballad of wanting and taking and loosing and wanting and taking and loosing" though I did wonder if that should be losing, not loosing? Fantastic line that last, got me. Also the line about the salt, to wash away the tears of joy... it disturbed me of course (ever avoiding the negative me, personally... if I can... yes there are lots of down sides to that), but it did so in a powerful way that had me turn things upside down to work through it, & that's always a good thing. A brilliant poem, many of us have "soul full" longings, including me, but I like the determination and positive tone of your poem. I think this poem is well constructed and tells us alot about you. well done Mand

Many many things. Complexity in simplicity, perhaps your greatest strength as a poet. I would like to show this to young poets who try so hard with so many words, trying to be so profound, and end up saying much less. Cheers, Jess
