HAC 51

If I'd been in
Manchester before 1994
instead of being in
Sydney being poor

I'd be dancing
in the Hacienda
with sounds coming
from a fender

rubbing shoulders
with Bernard Sumner
Happy Mondays
and New Order

hailing to the DJ
dancing till dawn
taking drugs
and more

forgetting my woes
fading to the sounds
dancing away
to Hac 51 pro-founds

But! It's now a
block of flats
the Hacienda, once
the icon with new wave cats

Oh how I wish I went to the Hacienda...

just connected you to poems and pic First off you look like an english teacher who taught two of my mates in 1983 she was a freind of mine short hair drove a celica toyota two door coupe awesome creative mind moved out west lesbian (i dont judge) i was in the poor people level in high school they were in the high acedemic level "the Dingo at your baby" what a movie that was I love the actress Meryl Steep she is awesome hoo that was long before CSI eighties it was Pat Pentar Annie Lennox for canuks and americans I see your poems and I read them and I think Now who is writing these but now I made the whole connect wow you are very good New wave yes I remember the days Depeche Mode Bela Legusi is dead Legosi ah well will try to comment more on your poems Love your feirce pics Wild Girls instead of Wild Boys but maybe same thing forgive me for my comments im tired Im just a poet admiring from afar

What a wonderful

comment, well just to clear the mud, the photo was taken in 1989 in Brisbane, I was working on my first exhibition in 1983 which was in 1985 and I'm still doing it. I don't drive, have never had a drivers liecence, missed the movie, loved reading about the trial and I like wild boys, well nowadays maybe not so wild. And thankyou for admiring from afar!!! and glad you liked the poem and thanks for the rating, love those little yellow stars!!! :)fleur

forgot to mention Joy Division the band from Manchester

Visage with Steve Strange I like too Fade to Grey the song David Bowie Ashs to Ashs another girlfreind introduced me to that and Bryan Ferry another girlfreind went back to look at your poems and never commented but read them until that one I liked HAC 51 a cool poem the above I paint sketch draw also sculpt a few years back so Im pretty right brained nice to meet you yet again all over
