Dear Bonitaj,

This is an interesting purge, slightly twisting the usual gender fixations. It is a little like a love poem, but with all the words inversed. Which, I guess, is what a gender rant consists of. Lots of creativity with the words and images here though. Affectionately, Brian

Wow Brian; I am most amazed by your appraisal. I don't see and certainly didn't feel much love in this one! Certainly is a purge and I think the gender issue is because there are so many men with this diagnosis. (no offense - but those are the stats) Thanks for stopping by! Much appreciated. Boni

NARCISSISTIC NIGHTMARE

Hello Ian: Thank you for stopping by. This piece is not so much about expressing emotionality or purging. What flashes through my mind is Dylan's "rage rage against the dying of the light!" It's meant to be an instructive piece, since this is one of my favourite lecturing subjects and I have had so much personal interfacing with this particular demon. I always joke that there's a neon sign on my forehead beckoning Narcissists to come to me for "salvation" but "it aint gonna happen" - the later that is :) I guess that is what Freud means when he talks of repetitive compulsion and having insight is half the battle. I think technically as far as the sadistic natures of some men, this was a sound write, but I'm left wondering if it is an allowed nature... or even welcomed... suave bon vivant and so refined... seems to indicate admiration... or at least to a point. Wasn't quite sure where the subject stood, does she hate it, does she love it... is she undecided??? At the end you ask the Marque to take a bow... I think it is meant sarcastically, but not sure... did I miss something... does it need something... Richard

Hi Richard! I am confused that you're confused... :) Sorry I thought it was so obvious - there is NO admiration, loads of sarcasm and a definite warning 'NO NO' to anyone, especially those that don't realise the Inner workings of narcissism. Please read it again! I'm talking real pathology here, not the normal egotism you see in normal guys. It is too closely aligned to Sadism and they hurt so bad... (others and strangely enough albeit subconsciously - themselves!) Please check out my next submission ECHO & NARCISSUS for a little more insight! Thanks for allowing me to "explain" myself further! Boni ps. I need to work on a piece about Masochism and you will see how nicely these two fit and WHY!! :)

Sometimes I miss the mark so easily, but I looked up the meanings to your beginning words... well, to be honest, I looked up several words you used in this write... a certain degree of narcissism is healthy, but not when it turns into narcissistic sadism... that I understand, and most surely understand the not wanting it... It isn't a topic I am familiar with, I look forward to your next submission... and my further enlightenment... Richard

Ah Richard: You are one of the most humble, intelligent people I know ( and that in itself is rather an oxymoron!). I'm sorry if this was a bit highbrow and not poetry as such, I guess one could say: "Old teachers don't die - they take it to the net!) If you've learnt anything from it - great!
