THE CHRIST

Upon awakening, I found myself in a great room
The walls, the floors were of a beautiful marble
There were soft shafts of color hitting along the floor
The souce of the light I could not see

I began to walk the the great hallway, as I could see
A particularly brilliant point of light up ahead
I was not afraid, but rather felt such love as I
Approached this light

I began to experience a myriad of emotions and memories
Finally, I stood before this light, and realized that this
Light had form, and it was looking at me with love and acceptance
"Welcome, daughter" I heard

Are you the Christ, I asked. "I am ", He softly answered
I looked down in shame, thinking that I was not worthy
Suddenly, my clothing was different.   It became gossamer
And of colors not earthly, that changed each time I moved

I then heard the beautiful singing of the angels, I fell to my face
"Arise, daughter, the loving light said, rise and enter into
Your heavenly reward and spend eternity with me"
The great pearl gate slowly swung open, and I could smell the fragrance

Of the flowers, and heard the speech of tongues not known to mortal man
My joy was overwhelming as I began to see loved ones, gone so long ago
It was as if it was only yesterday that I had seen them last
Home, I was home, never to go out again, the journey had been long

So many thngs in life that I did not understand, suddenly
Had meaning, and I understood the purpose of each of my sufferings
And trials.  There was such a great crowd of souls about me, and each
One knew my name, and each one had something to teach me

I ask you now, won't you accept Christ as your savior, so you can
Live in such sweet bliss forever more.  No one has been so sinful
That they cannot be forgiven, if they they truly wish salvation
For in the end, every knee shall bend, and every tongue confess

That Jesus Christ is Lord
