Does the soul quietly know?

Sometimes you feel so far away

Although we’ve journeyed

To the innermost spaces, together

The mysterious currents that intersected our lives,

Now seem to be guiding us on different paths,

From the crossroads where we first met and walked together

Nay, I do not doubt our love,

For what we share is unconditional and pure

And yet, the soul quietly knows what the heart is unwilling to accept

Our paths will gradually diverge,

Till we become specks on the horizon,

Walking on with love, quietly resident

Yes laughter will cast a pleasing mask over the dull ache

That’s growing to be a constant companion;

Along with the hope, that we will be together

Before we re-enter the bodies of our next life

Or perhaps even after, so that we may know

The joys of living on this earthly plane, with a soul mate.
