A Subtle Goodbye
i wash up onto the shore
a lost dog, a mountain of nothing but more
i dream to the stars at night
they whisper back to make things right
a drunk fight, a stupid lie
i follow trends i dream in threes
an abandoned house, an empty fire
stood against walls and told them to move
what was i waiting for
i dragged myself through all of your pain
i was your sponge
i absorbed all of your sorrows i was the one
i drift out to sea
a life raft, a drug you stole from me
just smile for once
tell me i am right
tell me i am beautiful and kiss me goodnight
i just want to feel the love i give you for once
a lost dog, a mountain of nothing but more
i dream to the stars at night
they whisper back to make things right
a drunk fight, a stupid lie
i follow trends i dream in threes
an abandoned house, an empty fire
stood against walls and told them to move
what was i waiting for
i dragged myself through all of your pain
i was your sponge
i absorbed all of your sorrows i was the one
i drift out to sea
a life raft, a drug you stole from me
just smile for once
tell me i am right
tell me i am beautiful and kiss me goodnight
i just want to feel the love i give you for once
