two curmudgeons

I waited
no tear,
no rip
in the fabric of the universe,
no cosmic shift,
no eclipse of the moon
or sun,
no nothing happened
just two curmudgeons
(she wrote lovingly)
with sunlight on their shoulders
and neti neti
in their hearts,
shook hands and hugged,
talked
and talked
agreed
about nothing in particular

somehow the world was blessed
and I,
silent in their shadow

wept.

Anna, again you have moved me, the set up here was lovely. I felt caressed of mind, & familiarity in the story & then the last... well, I was there in that weeping. Wonderful as ever xxx~ Anni ~~~ "So often is the virgin sheet of paper more real than what one has to say, and so often one regrets having marred it." ~Harold Acton, Memoirs of an Aesthete, 1948

Hi Anni, I wish I could have

Hi Anni, I wish I could have been there, it always amuses me when folks who have known one another for a long time on the net take so long to finally meet. If anyone lived near me, it would be my pleasure to meet in person, share a hug, a few words, a little silence. ~A "You begin saving the world by saving one person at a time; all else is grandiose romanticism or politics."
