1.
You shouldn't have died
but you did
how utterly cruel
how heartless
how violent,
this terrible beauty
called Love.
2.
I can't see my way through
living without you
I've shed enough tears
to drown in
to make me go blind.
3.
You told me: Be beautiful!
My Geisha face
has all but worn off,
my samauri sword, buried
with you.
4.
Control yourself, woman!
Pick up the pieces of your shattered heart,
the passage of time
is a poem,
see that field of clover?
that silver birch leaf
trembling
near the willow,
uprooted
by the storm?
5.
The rain still flows to the sea
and the sea into the sun
that shines behind
the storm
and so it goes,
and so it goes.
You shouldn't have died
but you did
how utterly cruel
how heartless
how violent,
this terrible beauty
called Love.
