Springs revival

All of earth awakes

Spring begins to yawn,

Plumes of breath exhaled

In the light of dawn.

Underneath the oak tree

In ferns of wetted green

Young deer forage

After winter’s lean.

Tattered velvet antlers,

Bucks sniff the air,
Baby fawn staggers
Doe's stand and stare.

Bushy tails and whiskers

In pelts of brown and grey

Sleepy liquid eyes

Pierce the light of day.

Icy grip is over

Winter hasn’t won

Nature is revived

By the fingers of the sun.

Hi Fleur

Thank you for your kind comments. You really do encourage me to carry on writing, I have read some of your poems, I think you are a fun loving person with plenty of energy and you have your own unique style of poetry - sometimes very funny. I haven't read all of your poems yet, but I will visit your site again in the not to distant future. Thanks once again for your encouragement. Mand

Thanks Cat, glad you enjoyed it. Spring is a lovely month isn't it and it holds promise of those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer and the gorgeous colours of autumn. Thanks for taking the time to comment Cat. Love Mand xxxx
