WOODEN NICKELS

WOODEN NICKELS

Your money
Your life
With wooden nickels
A poor mans love
You try to buy

The big cars
The ride
To the county club
To hear the praises
Like counterfeit
Money it is a worthless
Piece  of paper

New toys
A new hair cut
Bigger house
And still
No purpose
In your life

Another wooden nickel
To spend
For that poor mans love
To end

Excellent Press

Very good write. Only see one problem right off hand. this line... No propose (No purpose) Dang man, I really like this one a lot. Respectfully, Rett: "God made an idiot for practice, then he made a school board." Mark Twain For the sake of children, read this. http://www.neopoet.com/node/19905

right dad

I am so stupid sometimes [ and I will say this for you because you are thinking this already ] Son how many time have I said slow down check your spelling there is no reason for a good poem to be a bad poem for one misspelled word . reading your response [ No propose (No purpose) Dang man,] . Brings this home for me .I remember what you said about how the brain works . You said that [ sometimes people will have a hard time with grammar but are probably good in math and science and that is so true in my case . So let me tell you what I am starting to see. Mathematical equations in my poetry to make my poems flow better from line to line. This is what I see ? even tho a poem is writing in words , those words are made by sounds and tones. This is were the math comes into the flow [ NOW I KNOW THAT ALL POETRY DOSE NOT HAVE TO RHYME ]But Mathematical equation of a song in words in my poetry is my style. In my case I don't want the reader to pause ! maybe to look up what a words means or to have to really think about what a poem is saying. I have no desire to challenge a readers mind. I want my poetry to be like your favorite song to all that can't sing or all that can't play and instrument. OK so far I have seen two equation in rhyming I am still working on them . But they are simply a count of sounds and tones in a poem line by line a rhythm there is a Mathematical equation to it Love to you dad [G]

Absolutely son

Each syllable has a rhythm. hard beat, soft beat. DAH duh DAH duh and a certain amount or length to it. You are on the right track when you liken it to music.
