I HearThe Silence

I hear the silence from your lips.
Absence speaks louder than words.
Voices lost in numb minds,
Unable to articulate.

Heretical thoughts yearning to be free,
Abandoned,and left behind.
Explosions of blinding visions,
Cause emptiness to my ear.

Help me understand the echos,
Of the lost voice. Its' cries haunt me.

Gee...

at first I was confused, but then I think I got what you are talking about... not sure though... are you saying there isn't enough questioning going on in todays society... more acceptance... cause if you are, I'm not sure I agree... maybe I just didn't get it at all, help an old man out and give me a clue. Absence... not sure if that is the right choice, but then... Richard

You are not confused,

The situation is indeed one of questioning and acceptance, however,it was more of a local situation. I think your mind is as sharp as ever. I was trying to associate the quote "Actions speak louder than words","Absence speaks louder than words",to indicate a sense of loss, and understanding that it was a matter of honor, and so to accept it. Does that make sense? Gee

How looks can kill

By looks I mean the indifferent mope or sullen silences they are so 'soul' destroying and heavy to bear I find them dibilitating, I am also lamed and cannot think what to say. So it is with people who feel a little depressed too and selfishly spread the desease around them expecting everyone else to sympathise when all they do is gnaw away at ones insides silently surruptitiously, and without noticing you at all so taken up with their own misery. The proper depression, with its real meaning is quite something else and needs a great deal of understanding from the partner, that is different. Yes actions can speak louder than words as you say Geezer. So loud as they are not always understood and can turn things in a nasty direction unawares. Absense...maybe abstinence? Yours Ann of Norway

Absence,is what I meant.

After having called another of our poets out for incorrect spelling,I feel rather foolish. I guess I should use 'my'spell check. Nothing like a little come uppence for a person, hey? I think you liked my poem, and under that assumption, will say thank you. Gee.
