Vagina

Vagina Modernist visions of O'Keeffe flowers
Perfect pussies
Carnal splashed upon canvases
Lovers who tongue tickle Oyster shell lips
Quivering to fully expose blush petals
Surrounded by sprouted follicles
Opening slow to the empress hole of life By Lepadah

Interesting slant!

Not sure I am truly worthy of understanding this piece, but it's very 'Otherness' sets it apart as something special! Will look forward to seeing what you do with more subtle subject matter!

Vagina

Hi Lepadah, never quite thought of the gateway to life in this way. It's well expressed in a polite kind of way, with not a hint of crudity. Well done.

Reminiscent of Betty Dodson's art work, too,

I think. Her watercolors of what might be called 'vulvae I have cherished' could have been included to reinforce the O'Keefe reference. As an early review noted, this could be interpreted as a paean to the vagina in its reproductive function--ah, but this is too casual an appraisal of what is clearly meant to be a broader survey of that complex cleft and sheath. I'm kinda sorry that the poem does not supply more than a static image. The organ has a dynamic career--see Dodson for a fuller treatment of this fascinating study--and this poem is only a moment's glimpse and a brief 'table of contents' for a fuller work. If you write that, I'll read it with care. I like what I see in this, but it's not quite enough. "More, more," he said, "I'm still not satisfied!" That's not a demand. You'd have to dare the borders of propriety to go that way. You cannot mention privates in any slippery pink detail most places, and even Neopoet holds its contingent of prudes. Perry

Re: Comment

Hello Perry, You are correct there is more but in my mind; this is more a post modernist phenomenon and under taking "Et Dieu...crea la femme." Thank you for the read and I greatly appreciate your comment. Peace Lepadah

re-Vagina

Hello again Lepadh,...Yes first time around i was propably erring on the side of politeness. On reading it once more and with greater attention, I see a young married man supping at the fountain of life. {old timer}

Dear Lepadah,

With a name like Vigina, it has to be good. And it is, isn't it. I am just so happy you wrote this. Terrific. Opening slow to the empress hole of life I will keep my eye open for your work. Brian
