a new mothers prayer

Dear God in heaven  i pray to You
To bless my baby with the knowledge of you
I want him to know of the glory of your love
and i want him to know hes a gift from above
Dear God let him know  i love him so
And it is a love that will only grow
Let him know that no matter what he has done
He will always have my heart he will always be my son
Right now hes so small and must stay in my arms
and i can protect him from all that harms
but soon he will crawl then he will walk
he will reach for stuff then he will talk
Well God please protect him from the dangers that may be
watch him Lord and be his eyes when he cant see
And when he goes to school bless his days
Let the knowledge of Your love protect in all ways
And as he grows and discovers girls arent so bad
help him lord when they make him happy and sad
Through his growing years let him be kind, smart, and strong
Let him know living for You  he will never go wrong
And when he grows up and moves away
watch him Dear God, each and every day
And when i die and finally come home to you
Let me watch him lord like i know you will do

Lovely sentiment Green eyes

Children are precious. Beautifully written. There are a couple of places that could be smoothed out for a better flow, but this is more to be read as a prayer and not strictly as a poem so no nitpick there. I enjoyed it. Absolutely lovely. Respectfully, Rett: "God made an idiot for practice, then he made a school board." Mark Twain For the sake of children, read this. http://www.neopoet.com/node/19905
