State Ransit

The buses use to run
quite smoothly
until the pollies intervened
and caused a ruckus
now they are almost obscene.

Tell the pollies
to go to hell.
If I want to catch a bus
I should be able to
without a fuss.

You need a ticket
now even just for
one ride home
down Lizbeth street
I'll be getting on the phone.

Where's your say
was I asked to vote
no one cares.
As soon as I say
they'll be upping the fares.

Tell me, what should the
women do, standing solely
in the dark
missed the bus
guess she'll be sleeping in the park.

This state sucks
money and greed is their fuel
they don't care, cos their tools
the people are forgotten
they all need to go back to school

the reason I never commented on this, or anyone else has,

Is because it is old-minded bullshit. Some things get better, some things get worse. I like the prepay system, it demonstrably runs better, even though it is occasionally inconvenient to me. I have found the shops or buses that sell the tickets I need. Give me a real issue and I will give you my life. Cheers, Jess

thats a bit mean,

I was only making an observation, I have a friend who finishes work at 5 and her bus leaves at 5 past 5 and she has to run from work, if she misses it, she has to wait an hour before the next one. This is a older woman waiting at a bus stop in the dark by herself. The timetable sucks and the ticketing sucks!!!

it was a bit mean

and so was your poem. Expect universal feedback from such a parochial issue? Tell me about "This is a older woman waiting at a bus stop in the dark by herself." Then you got a poem. Cheers, Jess
