THE ETERNAL QUEST

THE ETERNAL QUEST "The earth is parched the land is drystealthily, scouring vultures fill up the sky..they swoop and scrape at the tormented landfilling blanched beaks with cracked, perished sand. The last Catch's blood is no more. Her pale, drained soul seeped from life's shore.Taken by her own outstretched handAs if perilously pleading... Her deck no longer manned. She had begged for him to stay...crawled through deserts night and day -on blooded knees forever to prayFor love - ever lost, evanesantly slipping away."

Hey Bonitaj

Great poem here. Your last verse is just awesome, that was my favorite. Had a feel of desperation and pleading with some fate. Your last line is great. "evanescently" is such an awesome word...why haven't I used that one yet?? Lol. Anyways, good write overall, Bonitaj, I enjoyed the fantasy, surreal feel of it. Peace n Love Katie

Thank you for your comments!

Hello there Katie! I guess all art comes from life as they say! This poem was born yesterday with much "bearing down" and pain! So happy it held resonnance for you... the last verse says it all! "She had crawled through the desert night and day..." i.e. no sustainance, water hope... (let alone LOVE!) and then she continued on Bended/blooded (used the later for more effect! although I preferred Bended)knee to pray - all the while knowing that it was in vain! Wow! in retrospect, I am a little overwhelmed by the desperation of it all, but therein lies THE RUB! (and believe me I lived those emotions experientially and cried as I wrote it!) so there it is! THe proof of the pudding is no longer in the baking - but in the eating! Thank you so much. Looking forward to communicating with you again! Boni

THE ETERNAL QUEST

I am so grateful it resonnates for others. It meant a great deal to me giving birth to this creation because the feelings inside were overwhelming... Thank you!

Hi Blanka! ALthough I'm new at this - you'll see from my other poems I do do STURM & DRANG! which as the Germans say is STORM and TENSION. I liked your analogy of "the pale cheek and white lips" almost like the blood had drained right out of her! (even before the suicide!) I'm glad you captured the sense of loss and desparation - 'cause that's exactly how I wanted to depict it! Your astuteness is appreciated! Take care Bonitaj
