ghost moon lights through/past
gossamer, standing-still clouds;
winds chase around trees

I was about to make ...

my peace with bedtime when I glanced out the open bedroom door ... looking up. The winds rushed hither and yon. I could make out the night-darkened trees easily, their branches sweeping air. But the looking up showed a full moon that shone misty through cloud cover so diaphanous that it made the orb appear to an extent like a camera shot taken out of focus. The contrast between the quiet heavens/the winds chasing one another at ground level was, yes, striking. And I tried to capture at least a sense of it in the brief words permitted by haiku. Thanx, Chuck

Hey!

Writing haikus's fun. I so enjoy being handcuffed/restricted/held in check to so few syllables to paint a scene, make a point, whatever ... Thanx much, Chuck
