Ancient Moon Dust Black

The ancient moon is a crescent blade in the
blackened sky. Blood stains on the hands
of the one who tortures me again;
blood stains on the sheets of the bed
I sleep in every terrifying night...

and the moon is like a glass ball
standing exquisitely delicate among the
cascading stars.
Remember me as the one who
screamed in your hands...

If I could hide, shrouded in the ebony silk
rippling across the waning moon,
hanging as a single beam in the great nothing.
Gleaming blade slitting my wrists one more time;
torturing blade, these scars are not inflicted by me...

ancient moon dust stain my hands black,
these things that cannot be dusted off;
I'm lost in the dark. Chilly ghosts who
defeat me everytime. Chilly ghosts who
breathe down my neck as I crawl away...

You ruled me once, a spinning silhouette in
a shattered mirror. I'm just a girl stained in
blood but this is your doing, your knife
on my wrists, your weapon of torture
ravaging my skin again...

oh, the silver blazon moon shied away; all of
the cold distance from here to the sky.
I'll still be here beneath the dimming stars,
the lights that always go out, nothing shines
when you lie alone, ashamed in the dark...

Shadows crawl over the bed at night,
scrambling across the ceiling, cackling as the
ancient moon dust black falls around me
and the crescent moon grazes my wrist
one more deadly time...

and if you dare reap me in this night again,
screaming aloud, but I know no one hears.
The moon is a glass ball cracking delicately,
shattering to pieces upon my floor...leaving
blood stains on the hands...

of the one who tortures me again.

Hey julie

Thanks for the comment. I of course am not suicidal, but my poems are the release of the feeling I would have if I didn't write. I'd be lying if I said I never thought about it, I think we all would be. Thanks Peace n Love Katie

Katie

This write was so deep in pain of not being, it even cut me, I am not sure if this is not a reflection of some feelings you have at the time of writing. To comment on poetry is sometimes a hard task, as in those few lines are paths that are walked by others, in this one it gives me a feeling of being lost and not being able to see or feel past the night we all sometimes are left in, forgive me if I am wrong , that is why it is so hard to comment. I wrote a poem to someone once and it was because... Believe Comes the dawn, when all the things of your yesterdays will mean That today is the first day of life's journey for you Being close, being lost, reaching out for what seems an age Touching flowers yet not having to pick one till that dawn Will make that final flower so wonderful to hold Do not fear to feel things before that dawn To have lived in yesterday only makes you see More clearly the things you need to see When the time comes I hope that I can be Within a small part of your yesterdays That will make the dawn more beautiful Just for you. You see there are things we need to wait for, not rush to be disapointed and sometimes crushed by others, that have no feelings, or are not aware of how we feel. Young Lady the dawn will be there soon if not already. Yours Ian.T

I can only say that you have written another fine piece Katie, and await the new dawn with the setting of the ancient black moon. Gee.

i love the imagery in this

i love the imagery in this poem...in it, i not only see the desparation, fear and depression of the victim, but also the dawning of a new awakening, a new beginning, that, with the release of the pain, the blood, will come empowerment to start anew. very good write and release. Mike. :D

Mikey!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, my friend, much appreciated. This was a spur of the moment write (as we all have them)...not sure why or how it came to me. But I guess that proves that behind every ancient black moon is that new dawn coming up. Thsnks again, Mikey. Peace n Love Katie

Hey Org

Ahh my fellow Canadian, hockey game? Haha. Thanks for reading and commenting Org, means alot. I grew up with it much too closely. You could say its haunting, but you're right when you say Neo is a way of helping the darkness become light. It is a way of letting it out, and perhaps one day I'll have happier things to write about. As always, thanks Peace n love Katie

very full

This poetry has some excellent lines. I see you used some different crafting techniques here, and it gives the poem an angle that I haven't seen much of in your work. Overall, just wonderfully laid out, and all while being expressive without sounding forced. very nice write.
