To bring such things to worded wing

So lovely then
This waterfall
This ocean undercurrent
So lovely
sweeping sentiment
calm
full
bewildered still
but sated.
You sift through
and know the centre
the essence and the access
and so the door swings open
and unbidden your procession seeks you
yes, it is yours
you call it with your own beautifully choreographed whispers
Every note I sang
you then transcribed
I cannot know you might
Hence you become the light
My eyes are drawn to you, slow blinking and in awe
I wonder if you know
Swept by these
This lovely flow
Yet within me or beside
These jagged fixtures still collide
I fall through these eternally
It slices up my soft existance
The pretty vivid bloom of life escaping
with such grace
Painting here my moments
in sweeping seductive strokes
like arabic writing in cumulus cloud
Yet you read them still
Lucidity your halo
And possibly your curse.

I am always by the water
Immersed or looking on
(did you hide my selky skin?, I am lost now, landbound and longing)
And always falling from the sky
Returning … lift, rise, longing and more longing
at these moments I can love me as I am,
but it's a secret and short lived
I wish for harmony
Yet create small knots of discord
                            and freying at the edges
   some unpeeling from the corners
still, I prefer the patterns of such chaos sometimes
it’s the wild in me
the whimsical
the need to pull the thread
and feel the thing unravel
but I digress
and you
are patient
and so smooth
so unruffled, fluid one
with eyes inside your heart surely
is that where you feel all this from?
I think I know, but cannot ever put such things to worded wing

Dear Anni,

A ripe digress, not lateral but an inward shift, the little wisp on the clear horizon. There is some colour there. If no thread is pulled how will you know the measure of you, the treasure of you? If my and other spirits be held by you aloft alone, how will the blood return well unto your spring? Frey some knot to find the safety upon the other side of untied ropes, where hands must reach out to hold. Let the self be a little flawed (a courage by itself). Your picture is not the part we like the best, zesty and puckered as it is, but the us you let us explore in the water of your words, in the soft fiber of determined voice, and the flirt with our being here to catch some fallen angel with a broken wing. Wonderful thing the intermingling of concept & perception, you b

Yes, beautifully written as always, your responses, poems in themselves, how I love this place. Thank you. Wonderful thing the intermingling of concept & perception, you bring me wider vision, eagle height, & velocity, sweeping through my writing, clear sight & keen. I'm glad it isn't my picture (must change that one, distracting I think) would hate it if it was, I had a policy of ambiguous image until recently, not sure why I changed that, I like the anonymity. This was in part my thank you, the thing I read, Brian, was your last poem, beautiful. So inspiring. x~ Anni ~~~ "Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get, it's what you are expected to give -- which is everything." -Anon

Ah Lonnie thank you, it is a beautiful thing to dive into a new way of working with words & find you can swim, not only with ease but that it is so very liberating & sweet to experience. Lovely words from you thank you so much.~ Anni ~~~ "Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get, it's what you are expected to give -- which is everything." -Anon

Worded Wings

I think that when things are too perfect,we worry that maybe we won't get anymore. After all, why would you need more if the one you have is perfect? And we worry about being good enough to have something perfect, and so see flaws where they either don't exist or are so insignificant that no one else sees them. I say accept whatever perfect things that you may recieve, and keep them safe. Protect them with all your might and cherish them. You are given perfect things so rarely in life because there are so few perfect things to begin with. "Perfection is a matter of perception". Gee.

Love your thoughts as always though Gee, it's nice to share our

Hey lovely Gee, so nice to see you here as ever, my weekends are now spent with my otter family, I am getting more used to withdrawals from Neo for 2 & 1/2 days (chuckle). So you are my first comment read back on line, my Neo hit (giggle). I agree completely that perfection is in the eye of the beholder, & I choose to see perfection in many places. Clouds (of course) are my icon for it actually. Clouds are perfect in all their forms, in my mind. Even though some might feel they wreck their day by covering the sun or raining when it doesn't suit them or not raining etc. I choose to see them as perfect. Neo is perfect the way it is, I love it just the way it is, like the people in my life, perfect the way they are, or the way they are not (even if it isn't always immediately comfortable that way for me, sometimes in hindsight I see it was the best way). So for me perfect is precious as much as it would be if it were more rare, but it does not have to be rare for me to appreciate it a great deal. Love your thoughts as always though Gee, it's nice to share our different perspectives, I like it. Be well. xx ~ Anni ~~~ "Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get, it's what you are expected to give -- which is everything." -Anon

I do love the idea that Selkies are nestled in my writing!

Hi Julie, oh that is such a beautiful comment, thank you. Ah for such succinct verbiage, I envy you in the nicest way. Such warm encouragement in such a smooth way with so few words, lovely. As for selky's, I misread this earlier & thought you asked if it WAS a selky (I was referring to). Selkies arise as a myth from Celtic areas (Scotland & Ireland mostly especially Hebrides) of creatures who by day swim in the ocean as seals & by night may come to land, shed their skins & become human, the legend is that the women are extraordinarily beautiful & make wonderful wives & that men might keep them as their own if they find their skin & hide it, of course the saddest part is that they long to go back to the water, & if they can find their skin they can return, but either way (as I understand it) they are torn, I sing a beautiful song called "The song of the seal woman" who longs for her human lover, it is extraordinarilly haunting, I have arranged it as a kind of signature song with almost every collaboration of a'capella groups I have been in, including my choirs. There is another song I discovered recently from a male perspective, who entrusted his selkie son to a human nurse & comes back to claim him when he is a young boy, sadly he has an awful omen that holds the nurse will marry a hunter who will shoot both the son & himself awfully tragic really, don't ask me why these traditional celtic song so often are, but they get me. If you are interested there are a few films about Selkies, I will look them up, the only one that comes to mind is "The Secret of Rowen Innish". Hope ou enjoy. Thanks again, cheers Cheer my DD~ Anni ~~~ "Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get, it's what you are expected to give -- which is everything." -Anon

I am glad to know you also find a spark in my work that feeds yo

Dearest Steven, I think you might have been interrupted in this comment, but I am grateful poetry saved you... in some ways, your poetry saves me (& I suspect others) at times, it renews me, it moves me it takes me places I forgot, or did not know, it shows me things I cannot know or would not wish to but maybe should. You are, my friend, a master of your style, a dream weaving wonder. I feel in some ways as if I "need" your poetry... yes I could live without it, but it adds a dimension I would miss if I had no access to it. I am glad to know you also find a spark in my work that feeds you as I do in yours. xx~ Anni ~~~ "Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get, it's what you are expected to give -- which is everything." -Anon

How beautiful Jayne, thank you, that is lovely, I am really glow

How beautiful Jayne, thank you, that is lovely, I am really glowing since you have told me you expeience my words in such a wonderful musical way, that is high compliment & pleasure for me. & you know these things too, be lovely to hear YOUR voice my friend, I bet you have a fantastic gutsy sound (for some reason that's what I imagine, I always wanted one of those sexy husky voices, bet you have one). As you may have noticed, I am experimenting these days departing from my more comfortable song writing style, I have been writing stream of consciousness stuff for a few years though after discovering that fantastic course "The artists way" Julia Cameron, so it isn't completely new, just never thought of myself as a poet until recently. Oh hope your health is improving dear woman, thinking of you. xx~ Anni ~~~ "Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get, it's what you are expected to give -- which is everything." -Anon

Selkies

Beautiful poem, this. The movie is "The Secret Of Roan Innish" , a good tale about Selkies and their interactions with people. Respectfully Jim "Laws and rules don't kill freedom: narrow-minded intolerance does" : Race
