The Road

I must explain to you
so that you may better understand
why I think the way I do.

I respect others
because my parents showed respect to me
allowing myself to grow.

I'm amiable enough
because they also showed me tolerance,
which taught me patience.

I know the value of love
because they loved me unconditionally,
paving the way for me to learn to do the same.

But most of all
I was taught to be selfless,
so as not to be a self-serving individual.

I'm still learning, though
but these are the fences that align my road...
the road I call "love".

The road called Love....is the only road to travel on...

because there are no sharp turns - sometimes a dip or two, however nothing of imense danger...just a smooth way to live...I believe..It isn't hard to Love someone even though they hurt you...if you truly Love the person...trust me I know....

However....

...sometimes, the Road of Love CAN be a one-way street...causing a difficult ride. Believe me, I know 'tis true. Thanks for your very astute insight, AND the input docmaverick.

Really good doc,

I feel a certain amount of envy. For all that my mother tried to teach those lessons my father tried to counter them. Have had to consciously, and sometimes unsuccessfully, make them part of my life. Just a few small suggestions for congruency of structure and flow paving the way for me to learn to do the same. could be shorter allowing [or teaching] me to do the same. so as not to be a self-serving individual. also could be shorter so as not to be self-serving I’m still learning, [though] the road I call “love”. the road of love. cheers, Jess Forever unwrapping the eternal present.

As always....

...you're correct. "I" shouldn't be the only one calling it, Love. You must see.....THIS is what I'm talking, about...I just don't have the insight. doc.
