The Why Generation

Sir, would you like a seat?
No such luck!
Madam, can I help you across the road?
No such luck!
Here, can I hold the door open for you?
No such luck!
Do you need some help with that?
No such luck!
Sorry, there's no smoking on the bus?
No such luck!
Are my friends and I too loud?
No such luck!
Will you let me carry that for you?
No such luck!
Is my music too loud?
No such luck!
Sorry, you can see my undies?
No such luck!
Sorry, sorry, sorry.
No Such Luck!!!

Sounds like you are having a bad hair day, the other point is to be happy that you are not living inside of those ones that behave this way, I think that the theme could be used to make a great poem, if threaded with some mirth or hate according to your hair day, Keep writing, Yours Ian.T

I was born in 62

and this poem is about those who were born in mid to late 80's, the ones that didn't listen to there parents or weren't told about common courtesy, that's all. I was just venting my angst. I see it everyday and it's boring. Oh and I had a haircut on the day I wrote this, so I'm pretty happy with the cut, thanks. And thanks for the comment, and keep commenting, we went through a stage where there wasn't alot of comments and that's how we grow as poets, from feedback. So thankyou again. lol Fleur much appriecated

I Agree....

I agree, there should be a twist-line here. I was really interested to see where all the no such luck was going to lead, and felt I was led down the proverbial prim-rose path. Maybe if,the end were to say;"Get that summer job from me?" No such luck!" Or how about if you answered each question with one like:"Would your grandda' like a seat?" Could I help your sis and babes cross the street?" I'll leave the harder ones for you,but you get the idea? I would even welcome lines like;"Do you need some help with your undies?" as I pull them up where they don"t belong!Keep writing, you have good ideas. I think I will soon be saying,"I wish that I had wrote that!" No such luck! Perception is a matter of perspective,Gee
