Knighthood

I worked so hard
to build up my defenses
High walls of brick
with palisades and mighty towers
My serfs and workers
stand to attention

Apparently it's not enough
my noble fortress was raided
My well-earned gold stolen
by bandits in armor
Riding off laughing
with their loot
Causing my destitution

And with a wave of noble hand
Lady Epione has spoken
whilst her crew is hard at work
Building up my castle
making it mighty and impenetrable
As a fortress should be!
My spirits are high
with the hopes that events of today
can be prevented for the future...

LOL, thanks J.

Misty pretty much gave me the name Epione. This wasn't really a historical event - my castle that I was building on a game got sacked! They stole a lot of gold, and one of my squires! Oh well... On no, you were pillaged?

How annoying, dear Jess! But at least there did come a good poem out of that! I remember your dragon poem...You seem to be having a lot of fun with medieval images and themes. Maybe top it off with a touch of "old" English or a stricter form? Just an idea (and a request). Do give us more knights! (And castles and dragons)Please! Yours, ~Nina

Yep. Sacked, pillaged, AND they stole one of my squires! I do have a lot of fun with the medieval themes, but that wasn't really what prompted this... it was a Facebook game called Knighthood. I'm trying to build up my castle, and people keep sacking it! I'll keep your request in mind, and will think up a special one just for you. :~) Thanks for dropping by. ~Jess K. ----------------------- "So I open my door to my enemies, and ask could we wipe the slate clean? I liked the whole beginning, it was like, I know that feeling, I could have left it at that. Rebuilding, for me not a chance. Too much work for very little reward for this heart of mine. That sounds so sad, but really its not. No visitors at my fort unless I am related to them. Ha ha

Sounds like Warcraft Blues. LOL I have the same problem in Anarchy Online. Good poem, I really enjoyed this. Respectfully Jim "Laws and rules don't kill freedom: narrow-minded intolerance does" : Race

Thanks again, all!

Glad to know my little blowing off of steam turned into a decent poem. I think my muse has been on drugs or something lately, as she's not been giving me very much stuff to work with! LOL! I'll be sure to come up with a good similarly themed poem when I return. ~Jess K. ----------------------- "So I open my door to my enemies, and ask could we wipe the slate clean? you wrote Epione, did you not mean Epona the welsh goddess of the hunt. perhaps not. i can see you composing some beautiful romance akin to "The Courtship of Cuchulainn and Emer" i like your style, and hope to read more. love and well wishes john x
