I Wish.....

I wish today were yesterday
a day I made you smile,
I was struggling with my verbage
and you were knowing all the while.

I wish today were yesterday
prices easier to swallow,
"bring your own", and pump the gas
all one had to do was follow.

I wish today were yesterday
when I cared not for my plight,
I enjoyed life to the brim
be it day or be it night.

I wish today were yesterday
where what I did made you laugh,
and now you're gone and it breaks my heart
for without you, I'm but a half.

I came within a hairs breadth off writng this one off

but its just the last line that sucks. Trite and cliched. You can come up with something better then it will be a really good, readable, engaging poem, cheers, Jess Forever unwrapping the eternal present.

Sorry, but I couldn't....

...think of another rhyme than, "girraffe". Seriously, Halmark bought a part of a poem from me that included this rhyme...I'm kinda sorry to say. doc.
