The Pitcher Of My Heart

God Himself
With His sacred
And beautiful hands
From the stream of your love
Filled the empty pitcher
Of my heart

And you broke it...

Then He
Collected
The broken pieces
To Himself
And with His artistic
And beautiful fingers
From the mud
Of His love
He made
My heart's pitcher
Again...
Filled it
From the stream
Of His love
And said;
"Worry not dear!
For never will I
Break this pitcher."

And life started
To dance
In my dead veins...

Wafi

Nothing wrong with the title at all. Nothing wrong with the rest of the poem either. A beautiful piece, so poignant and full of love's transcendence. Respectfully Jim "Laws and rules don't kill freedom: narrow-minded intolerance does" : Race

*These lines don’t read

*These lines don't read quite right: Then Himself He collected The broken pieces. Maybe: Then He, Himself/collected the broken pieces or Then He collected/the broken pieces/to Himself. In any case, I think He needs to come before Himself. *“Wafi dear, Worry not! For never will I Break this pitcher” I would revise here to eliminate your name so this reads more universally. Many people can relate to this. I agree with Jim about the beauty of this poem. It's a merciful epiphany about love or, I should say, Love.

Great

In the vein of a traditional Sufi poem . Beautiful and touching. Just a little tweaking ( already suggested) otherwise superbly capturing the love of God and the thankfulness of being blessed with emotions and life. Love it!! Peace be unto you sister.
