Speak Up

What did you tell the teacher?
What did their eyes say?
Can you hear my thoughts?
And what about the voices?
In my mind they speak, they scream, they dream.

Now I wonder, did you take notice?
Bid me to the backdoor
Do you see the busted window?
Blood dried along the edge....
Flaking paint.
What is this? Another accident?
Did Little Lauren fall again?

Last time I saw her
She was trippin' in to Vegas.
High off humanity's hostility,
And all its precious 'gifts'.

She used to love to trace me
Played connect the dots
Created master pieces
From my scars

She was brilliant before the coming down,
That was when we lost her.
And no one spoke a word

No one said a thing.

Wow Kya

As always, a stunner of a poem, dear Ky. Just one typo- briliant=brilliant. Otherwise I'm darn near speechless, girl. Does 5 stars say enough? The ending just completely...I don't know how to describe it...it's shocking, is the only word I can find. "No one said a thing..." It just resonates. Very powerful ending, girl. And as always, if you need a friend I'm here. It's great to see you frequenting Neo again!!!! Peace,Love n hugs Katie

I am nearly speechless myself

beautifully written and heartwrenching. A courageous and important piece. I only wonder about the switching between first and third person. Is it two people or does it point out the dissociative disorder so common to abuse victims? cheers, Jess Forever unwrapping the eternal present.
