single orange tree

Let my dreams float soft beside you
my eyes rest in your form,
watch the light reveal all spaces
in this sensuality of dawn.

Follow breathing in its rhythm
the anticipated skip,
as behind a fluttered eyelid
in the dark you reach for it.

I shall uphold the right of guardian
resist the armies of the day,
let you sleep on through the morning,
wash tired memory away.

Beyond the treeline on the roadway
the world keeps rolling past,
there's no envy here beside you,
tie us not unto that mast.

Walk us lightly on the shoreline
dance in places seldom seen,
there's a fountain in a courtyard
beside a single orange tree.

these poems could be siblings

Blanka I was blown away when I read this gift from you, I'm assuming it is another for Nina. The parallels are pretty amazing, thanks so much for that and for your kind words. Love. Craig

Yes Craig this is gorgeous,

Yes Craig this is gorgeous, it lulls me to a calm state, there's a gentleness to your rhyme that is very appealing, it seems to have an almost dreamlike quality, quite lovely! Much love b x

that little finger

I can almost smell the milky freshness of baby skin. So nice to get your comment Bek, thankyou. I'm glad you got the dreamlike quality from this, the gentleness, the watching over of a loved one. Love. Craig
