Baptised ~ the moon is not tarnished

the moon is not tarnished
no matter how many promises
have been broken
under its spell

the earth claims no survivor
does not ridicule the grave
and the life once danced with
dancing feet,
prayerful lips
or preying mind...

the breath of Gaia can not
be taxed by human guile

see how free her water flows,
washes away all signs of disgrace,

bloodshed from memory.

Anna, I love it,

Anna, I love it, particularly the first 4 lines! Inspired myself by Mother Earth recently, side by side with you in the stream but perhaps not in same field of excellence ( Cloudthings says I'm not to compare and she's right, I shouldn't) so will just reiterate how much I like your poem, love, love, LOVE it!! much love b x

beki…. i’m reminded of

beki.... i'm reminded of this quote : "Every man I meet is my superior in some way. In that, I learn of him." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson As Poets we can't help but learn.... it's good for our egos, which of course, "contain multitudes*... Hugs of love, Anna "No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment of punishment." Article 5 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Anna...

Have I told you how much I love your mind... all right then, I won't say it again... but I do! It is a good thing the moon isn't tarnished by our misdoings... in my younger, wilder times I would have molded it up but good... fleeting it is my friend, and perfectly balanced for life here... thanks for posting here. We feel our place in the scheme of things Anna

The autumn of my life; The moon is a flawless moon, Nevertheless -----------------Issa This verse is to be completed in the feelings, not by any intellectual cogitations, however emotionally suffused they may be. The intellect is to go into the emotions, not vice-versa. The intellect is to deepen and enrich, to humanise the animal feeling. Thus in proportion to the depth of our experience of life, this "nevertheless -----" will have its depth of incommunicable meaning. (R.H.Blyth) Nice poem Anna from Ann of Norway
