A Seedless Fruit yields once

We are lab rats
they are messing with our food
growth hormones
bio wars
and nobody seems to know

Experimentaly regulated fields
if a farmer won't bend
he'll have to give in

The cancerously corrupted
believe they'll get it right
and they just might
but at the cost of how many

Wow!

Words cannot express how happy I am that you are so well informed on this subject. So sad that so many others are not. And your rhetorical at the end speaks volumes. No more need be added to it. Yours, Chuck PS: And I particularly like your "cancerously corrupted."

Well then...

I couldn't ask for a better commentary... I could've went on and on about pesticides, and longevity additives, but most people are at least aware of those... but most are unaware of the what goes on before the process... the altered seeds, the governmental subsidized "encouragements" for growing the "right" foods and in the "right" way... We have all heard of growth hormones in chicken and turkey, seems to be ok with most of America, but what they don't know is even the vegetables are being altered... the seedless grape, the seedless watermelon... all right in front of us... and we do not see... well, some do... the farmers know! and it makes me question every bite, but we do have to eat...

How much do we know, there are so many conflicting explanations of everything now that its impossible to understand it all, and so many of the explanations are made by those rubbing their hands together as they do so! Yours Ann of Norway

Hey Richard,

Now here a subject I can sink my teeth into!!! LOL I tell you, it will get worst before it gets better, I don't care what the Government says, there is not enough over sight on the food and drug administration. Why can't the government hire one of these Green organizations as the oversight! the answer to that is that then the politician won't be able pocket an money from special interest. Let me not go off on a rant!!! this is your poem, and I have to say its on point! thanks, Eddie Life is like a railroad track that leads to many junctures, if you stand on the track Love comes speeding along and runs you over!! I thank you for reading and it is great to see your passion concerning this important matter which concerns us all, I think the experimenting with foods is most likely a global factor... On a side note, has it ever struck you funny that the food and drug administration was both, food and drugs... I know they are directly related, as everything has some chemicals in its base components... but food and drugs... or the ATF... that one is another one... government??? thanks for reading my friend... powerful

Very good work. I like the opening line "We are lab rats", very powerful and though provoking. It forces us to think about things that we often would prefer not to; about things we would rather look the other way on. Good stuff.:) ~Sora

A Seedless Fruit yields once

Loved your poem Richard~! Some on this side of the state cannot pull from their wells to water their gardens [contamined from General Motors years ago] Water, Air, and Food polution all a major concern to all of us! It seems the major players always reap the benefits and the little guys pay for it as usual~ _____________________________________________________ Income-tax forms should be more realistic by allowing the taxpayer to list "Uncle Sam" as a dependent Anonymous

Hi Janice...

Haven't seen you in a while, hope all is well or well enough anyway... thank you for reading and sharing about the water problem in your area... there are many places where the water has been poisoned to the point of no return... I guess ya'll have to buy all your drinking water... and to think, they think they deserve a bail out... what is it all about??? Richard

Richard this one packs a

Richard this one packs a real punch. A lot of people I know grow their own veg now, for financial reasons as well as the whole, know what you're eating thing. Naomi and I are attempting to grow tomatoes (I hate them in their raw state but thought it'd be good to teach her where food comes from and it gives us lots of opportunity to get muddy and wet lol) any way I'm digressing (no suprise there then!) your poem Moonman is very topical, highlights an important issue and has a really modern kind of feel for me, yes, punchy! I like it :) much love b x

Great poem Richard! And I

agree, is scary about the cost and the not truly knowing what kind of consequences they may get in the end. Time, a big factor, that doesn’t yield the results until Many times it is too late. I do like the choice of organically grown products, no pesticides, but, if the seeds are altered already…. Hmmm, still that unknown factor. Wish we could excise all the cancerously corrupted! Always, Tonya

I like the organically grown veggies and fruits too, but they are much more expensive, there are many local farmers that set-up stands around here, and I feel much more comfortable buying from there than buying from the grocery stores where the foods are shipped in from who knows where... but still, we never know, until it is too late... we've already eaten it... scary times! Hello Richard

A thought provoking write. I didn't think much about this subject until I read Ruth Ozeki's "All Over Creation" which is about the engineering of the Idaho potato. This is an amazingly entertaining book, try it. After reading that I heard that this particular breed of Idaho potato became the most popular for commercial french fries. Then I heard it was linked to obesity, for some reason, more than other potatoes, something to do with the carbohydrate not registering on the brain when full, therefore, eat till you drop syndrome. What will they do to us next? Yours, Deelilah

Hi Dee...

thanks for stopping in and reading... potatoes, did you know there are over 500 varieties of potatoes... closer to six... It has been traced back to Peru in the 5th century bc, and they haven't always been accepted as a clean food for human consumption... interesting vegetable it is... the Idaho has been used so much in the beginning I think because of demand... but that is the first I'd heard of the link between it and obesity... but it does make sense... I will have to do a little research and see what I can see... thanks Richard

seedless fruit

Richard Lab Rats Wonderful my friend for those who truely see what is real in the world. Oh how true why cannot they let nature be true nature as it should be without chemical aids etc. As a young girl we grew vegetables in the yard we could not afford to go and by from the shops. There is nothing like picking the herbs the vegetables as you prepare the meal so fresh and the feeling you have of growing it your self without the aid of chemicals. Organic before the word became fashionable. just hard work digging the earth clearing the ground preparing the earth and plant the seed. It is a feeling you cannot bye. Hard work but so rewarding. When my children were younger I had a large yard we planted potatoes - runner beans- tomatoes- cabages etc. My children had their own patches and they would go out and water every day waiting for their wonders to appear. The joy on their faces when they could see the potatoes and carrot straight from the ground the brought them to the kitchen so gently and washed and prepared them for the meal we were about to eat then the sadness of eating what they have grown as if they had killed them.. But they tendered the garden with love waiting for the next generation. To now that the goverment want to force feed the animals so much all is contamiated. Some kept in awefull conditions never to be free to roam in the sunshine and rain. But the bye products then infects the human race. I prefere nature as it is in all it glory good and bad but it is natural. We do not want to be lab rats. Electric Blue I could go on but i have said enough
