Miles of Smiles

I've seen many wonders
in my life and times,
and understand the consequences
of too much folly and bad rhymes;

but, I can't resist true fun,
sharing jokes or a bad "pun",
'cause there's really no harm done...
if at least, one person smiles.

So many times I've ended up
with chances slipping by,
and those times do a disservice
and can cause a soul to cry;

the lesson we must learn,
is that those moments don't return,
and we'll live life being stern...
filling our days with only trials.

So pass the bottle one more time
and lets enjoy another sip,
and consider a life of levity
just a friendly "tip";

just study your family tree,
and tell me you can disagree,
that in life, laughter will set us free...
by erasing life's cruel miles.

I think the theme is a great one. My suggestion would be to use a little less punctuation. I like the part about about missing chances. I feel we should take every opportunity to let someone know they are special. that may be what they need at that moment. I had a license plate that you can make it. and a lady told me that what i needed to help me through that day. ~~~~~~~~~ Be whoever you are At all times, and Remember that Because of this, people will Always Respect, and Admire you ©2008Leonard Respectfully Yours, Barbara
