Dark and shadowy is life in me
I live in the night and sleep through the light.
Ancestral tendencies come creeping silently
To hunt the prime and prime the hunt.

Feeding from their life blood,
My mouth foamed and ringed with their fears.
Motionless, emotionless I stalk and walk my prey.
Thorned claws and honed instinct.

I know where your weakness lies...

My eyes
Hypnotize, mesmerize, paralyze
You don't realize
You've willingly exposed yourself to me.

Futile is the attempt to run from me now
You have not the will nor want to.

Every drop of pain you feel -
Yet feel you not in pain.

YOU LOVE IT! YOU CRY OUT FOR MORE!

Opening yourself widely,
Nothing of your flesh remains.

Torn and shred by me...
Corn and bread for me...

Still you feel the pain, Still blood pours like rain.

Still in the end, only I remain.

Shadowrose,

I am impressed! I like the feel of this poem, the slight hestitation as you tell the reality. Very dark, almost seductive, intriguing, and pulls you in. BRAVO! and you haven't changed my image/view of you.... Live, Laugh and Love (and don't forget to write) Tink
