Empathy

Ah Beki, here you are touching on one of my professional areas of expertise. What you have described is more what we call cognitive empathy which is the being able to recognise feelings in someone else and see them from their point of view. I think you were more intending emotional empathy here which is actually to feel what someone else is feeling. As such you might want to consider substituting "envisioning" with "experiencing". Either way was a great acrostic lol. Hope the weather was not as dismal where you are as it was down here today...definitely a grey day! Keith x

Hi Keith, your profession, Professor, sounds very interesting, I hadn't thought about there being different forms of empathy, I love how you make me think! :) so thinking about your comment...I guess I did mean emotional empathy, feeling someone else pain, but now I'd like it to perhaps refer to both, seeing their point of view and feeling their pain, so will leave it as envisioning for now, lol. Am so glad you liked the acrostic Keith, and were not tempted to have a go ;) lol! It was much greyer here today but the rain held off, although I don't think it will tomorrow, much love b x

I read empathy into me

so much was jammed or missing that books characters which I studied to feel enlivened or enriched or fortified it maybe maybe Im just living as someone else this is a great poem because its just playing with the work of poetry which is poetry watched a child builiding on a table for connecting blocks and he build his structure out from the edge and built it underneath in a hanging extrension which ran even underneath The top was made of a large flat of connecting circles Legos those things are called playland at McDonalds Chloe was just three then I have never forgotten that no one had told him he couldnt just build beyond the edge his mind was still working beyond restrictons of creativity the child was around four I have seen these poems for quite some time we had to make them in school for English still Its a joy to see them and read amazing yet again Faerie

Orgami, I love the

Orgami, I love the reflections and memories you share in your comments :) How wonderful of you to see and remember that boy and his building. It amazes me how kids think without restrictions, it's sad in away we/society forces such rigidity upon them. I look at my Omi sometimes and wonder who's teaching who lol I'm starting to be warey of sending her to school, there's go to be a better way to teach our children than forcing them to sit still in uncomfortable chairs for countless hours and filling their heads with dead information, they should be freer to CREATE more I feel. I'm rambling and haven't thanked you for your comment, I'm glad you found it 'amazing', I love acrostics from my own school days (I was lucky school was never too bad for me) and enjoy the challenge of summing the word up in as few words as possible. I was quite suprised it won the competition to be honest, thought it might be bit too bare bones ;) Much love to you Steven, thank you for being here xx

Chloe turned out to be an artist

I draw and paint but she does it so well and plays guitar and has numerous expensive tatoos on her Her mom and I at the time did not have tatoos I have the one on my hand but somewhere she just picked it up and the love of hard rock Lori my present girlfreind has some tatoos and is into Hard Rock so when Chloe comes for a visit Lori and her are like two peas in a pod School was cool I survived and met interesting others had one or two girlfreinds even in High School Atwood has made a new play to promote her new book I was reading in the paper today at Twiggs she is my favourite author I think your poem is lovely Im glad you won!!

Little Stone Hugger

Well done on your win in this cata what's it, Have just watched you Hugging people in Westbury, this is where I use to go to school, at the Sec Mod as they called it then, My home was in Heywood and originaly in Hawkeridge I left there to Join the RAF when I was 15, So it is a little world that swept around when I saw you there on that Hug a Faery day LOL. You said in that film that one of your organisers was from there, the world is shrinking, Yours Ian.T
