Dear Amy

Dear Amy
Thank you for the days
we've spent together;

There were days of the wind,
and days of the sun,
not to mention the days of the rain;

but, it was no matter the weather
for we shared them, together
sometimes doing, whatever.

What's more, our visits had a small price.
For the most part, they were lessons to learn of,
variations on a theme called, Love.

Pass it 'round again,
my friend, let's have a toast.
for each one of our given situations.

You see, with each and every nuance of each day,
our existence lets us come out on top;
we're "good to the last drop"...

That's you and I until we die.
So, let's have another swallow
of this fine wine.

Dear Amy,
thank you from the bottom of my heart,
because, you've been doing more than your part.

For, It 'twas you
who were the most tolerable...
and certainly I who obtained the role of, palpable;

because, you made possible the day...
even though we both were allowed to play together
in spite of the weather...

and true to your "form",
you've made my life both,
"fuzzy" and warm...to my heart.

Dear Amy,
thank-you for all of our times,
our days, and our hours...

for no matter the cost, our lives are richer,
every time, off the charts...
enriching both of our hearts.

And Amy, you and I, together
share ownership of those days...so, I thank you in every way,
for taking the time to be with me.....because I sure do feel "special".

A good write that told a story and held my attention until it stopped me hard with the use of (it 'twas) I am from Wiltshire and we use 'twas a lot in our own accent, it to me means (It was) so there is duplication there young man, as it makes the first it redundant, I am bad and can find silly little things like that but as to putting punctuation in my work I fail LOL, You take care there, Yours Ian.T PS:- Is that Thumbalina

The first part is about the use of 'TWAS as it is an abreviation of IT WAS, and as I said we use it a lot, so that made the IT before it not needed. I rarely comment on little things in others poems, as I am more guilty than most at making errors with small things when I write Tumbalina was the story of a little girl I think by Hans Christian Anderson. An old couple longed for a child and they were blessed by the arrival of a girl child that was the size of a thumb. Stories for children, it has a song and a film made about it. Hope this has cleared any ???'s about my reply to your work. You have a lovely day out there,Yours Ian.T
